This new integration has helped us speed up our review process stunningly.

In the lines below, I'll describe how.

First, the way we implemented MeisterTask for managing our operations is as follows:

Each board inside our Business account is a customer of our company. A project, you could call it.

Every single board follows a template with columns that resembles our business process (incoming, assigned, ongoing, finished).

Until recently, automations were running in each of our board for 4 key aspects that save us plenty of clicks when we spend time inside MeisterTask's user interface:

    • Task Assignment (if the card lands in a certain column, the card is assigned to X person)
    • Start of the time tracker (if the card is moved to "ongoing", the time tracking starts)
    • Stop of the time tracker (if card is taken out of "ongoing", the time tracking stops)
    • Changing status to "Finished" (if the card lands on "completed", then the status is finished)

Approximately a month ago, we added a fifth powerful automation to all of our boards that greatly improved our feedback loop.

This new automation is precisely related to Eva@Eva Schindler's post above.

It was configured to send "Review Notifications" to Slack, which is the place where my team spends most of their time during a typical working day.

This automation was set up only to send task related activities when a card lands in the column "Completed".

Each Slack notification lands in the project's respective Slack channel, so the concept of granular notifications (not notifying everybody about everything) is maintained.

No other columns or task activities send us a buzz to Slack. Just "Completed" stuff.

By definition in our business processes:

    • Only tasks that have been finished 100% and reviewed a couple of times by the person who did it, can land in the column "Completed".
    • Only after the head of support has reviewed what has been done (to ensure it's what the customer asked for) a formal notification can be sent to the customer through our helpdesk system.

So, considering we don't spend most of our time inside MeisterTask's user interface, this automation has doubled our efficiency regarding the supervision of our collaborators.

The same goes for the provision of feedback to end customers (quicker customer service = happier customers).

Basically, this feature alone has enabled us to know in real-time (literally) when stuff has been done for review.

Please, @Eva Schindler, send this text to Meister's Dev Team to let them know:

In this part of the world, we greatly appreciate the efforts and time you fellows invest in giving us these powerful new features.

Soon I'll make a formal blog post about this experience, to help other users exploit better all these features and tools.

Meanwhile, keep the good stuff coming, you folks are doing great!

    Cheers.
