Product Update: What’s New & What’s Next? (April 2024)

I am excited to share some fantastic updates in MeisterTask and give you a sneak peek at what's coming next. 

🚀 What’s New?

• Restrict File Uploads: Team admins can now disable file uploads for all projects. This means no more uploading, dragging, or pasting files into tasks, boosting security for those with strict data regulations. Team Admins can find this option under My Team > Permissions > Restrict Features. It's perfect for companies needing tight security control over data transfer, helping prevent unauthorized file sharing. Available now for team admins on a business plan.

• Ask Meister AI: Our new feature, Ask Meister AI, has just gotten even better and is now available to all users. Ask Meister AI is an AI-powered search feature that retrieves information from your notes to provide answers to your questions and concise summaries of your team's shared documentation. You can now quickly find answers, summaries, and solutions not just from your Notes but also from our comprehensive MeisterNote Help Center. More information is available here. 

• Inviting new team members - Pending Invitations: It's now easier to handle invitations for new team members. If you've invited anyone to join the team, you can now easily monitor any of your invitations that haven't been accepted yet. You can find all these pending invitations in your dashboard. These invitations last for 14 days, so you can check if someone has accepted them. If the invited user can't find their invitation email, you can quickly copy the invitation link and send it again through Email or Chat.

• Export project limit now higher (200 projects): Business users can export custom reports with up to 200 projects per saved custom report, compared to 50 projects previously. This feature is available on the business plan. 

😎 What’s Next? 

• View & create discussion in Notes on the mobile app: MeisterTask has recently introduced a new feature called "Notes" on its mobile app. With this feature, you can access your notes, that you created in the browser, also on mobile app. The good news is that Meister plans to enhance this feature further by allowing users to create and view discussions on their notes in the mobile app.
• Complete button: Every task has a "Complete" button that people love to click. We're changing how this button looks to make it more user-friendly and prevent accidental clicks.
• Navigation in the left sidebar: The left sidebar has symbols for important places in the app. We're going to add labels (=words) next to these symbols to make it clearer what they mean.
• Checklists in tasks: We're bringing Markdown to checklists in tasks. This means you can format your text and links and make them look nicer, just like in task descriptions and comments.
• List view: We're looking into creating a list view. It's a new way to see your tasks in a project as a simple list, not just on the Kanban Board.
