Is there a way of automatically deleting a task if it has just been created on another column?

Hello everyone,

I currently have a dashboard of my various tasks with Todo / Done / Win / Lose.

Thanks to Make.com I can create a task automatically on the associated board.

However, I have a small problem:

When I create a task on Todo and then on Done, I get the same task on both. But I'd like this task to disappear on my Todo table.

Is there a way of automatically deleting a task if it has just been created on another column?

Thanks

    Hi @Joseph Nalbone 👋🙂

I am not an expert for every solution with make.com, but here are my first thoughts about possible solutions:

    1. Automation in MeisterTask: You can use MeisterTask's built-in automations. For example, you could set up a rule like, "When a task is moved to the 'Done' section, archive it". While MeisterTask itself doesn't have a native "delete" trigger, archiving is often a good workaround to remove tasks from active boards.
    2. Make.com Automation: Within Make.com, you can add a scenario to archive the task from the "Todo" column when it gets moved to "Done". You can also add conditions in Make.com to ensure the task is deleted from "Todo" only if it has been successfully added to "Done."
      • Trigger: Task moves to the "Done" column.
      • Action: Remove/Archive/Delete the corresponding task in "Todo."
    3. Check for Duplicates: Ensure that the task creation in "Done" isn't triggering a duplication. Sometimes, Make.com might create a new task without removing the old one if conditions aren't set properly. Review your scenario settings to ensure that the task isn't being duplicated across both columns.

If none of these options work as desired, it might require a more customized integration setup in Make.com to better handle the task transitions. Maybe an expert at make.com could be of help then. 😉

    Best, Jörg
