🚀 New Feature: List View in MeisterTask
Dear Community,
MeisterTask offers a second way to view tasks in projects: List View.
MeisterTask now offers two main views for all tasks in a project: Board view and List view. You can switch between these views to suit your project management style and needs.
💡 What is List View?
List view in MeisterTask offers a clear and easy-to-read list of all tasks within a project. This view displays tasks in a simple, vertical list format, resembling a spreadsheet in which you can quickly see details like assignees, due dates, and more.
💡 What is Board View?
The familiar, pre-existing Board view displays all tasks in a Kanban-style layout, with each task represented as an individual tile.
👉 To switch from Board view to List view:
- Open your project in MeisterTask.
- Click Board in the top navigation.
- Select List: The project will switch from the default Kanban Board view to a List format, displaying tasks by section.
What is your favorite view? Let us know below in the comments, I am curious to see which view is more popular.

Dear MeisterTask,
I think this new list view will have a huge impact on smartphones with smaller screens and usually carried in portrait mode.
In this situation, filtering tasks will be particularly efficient and should also be viewed in list so that filtering with several items can be easy and straightforward .
When will we see this feature in the smartphone apps?
Thank you for the great enhancements you bring to the app.0 -
It's good to have both views depending on the case for which it's needed. In a Meeting with several participants who all look onto the content the list view is much mor practical and a better overview. For using a filter it would be great if only the colums/groups would be shown for which the filter shows relevant tasks. That would be a absolut benefit for a bettere overview.

I am excited to see development on this but am still ACHING for a calendar view. The timeline view in the drop down needs to be a calendar view not a timeline. This would seriously change the game. I've put this in the feature request for over a year and SO many other are asking for it.🙏🏻 We will certainly enjoying the small benefit of list view but essentially it doesn't make a large impact on organization or productivity. Calendar view 2025 please!! 🧡

Very nice feature, especially if a project has a lot of cols with just a few tasks. Thanks for keeping the flow alive and delivering new features constantly ;)
Keep up the good work!

Preferred the previous method where you could see the board tasks and the timeline above it now I have to switch back and forth between the two.

Hi all 👋,
thanks for your feedback, that's fascinating to see how valuable this is!
I want to clarify a couple of things:
- @FrançoisJaeger CODE : You asked about the list view on the mobile app: At the moment, we are not planning to implement list view on the mobile app. The mobile screens are pretty compact, and the advantage of list view is having more info per row. That is why it is currently not on the roadmap. However, feel free to create a Feature Idea here about this and we can see how big the interest is.
- @Annette Schmidt : If you cannot see the feature yet, then I would recommend trying to log out and login to your account again, try to refresh the browser or delete cookie and cache.
- @Jason Mccloud , if you prefer the split screen and see all tasks on your board and the timeline above, then you can still do that without having to switch back and forth. See the gif below how to do that. I hope that helps.

Hi everyone,
First of all, a big thank you for introducing the new list view! 😊 It’s such a great feature. Huge thanks for all the effort you’ve put into developing this!
I do have a question and a bit of feedback about it:
Currently, the chosen view (e.g., the list view) is applied across all projects. Would it be possible to set the view individually for each project? That would make it easier to tailor the display to the needs of different project types.Additionally, it would be helpful to have an option to choose whether the list is displayed expanded or collapsed by default. For larger projects with many entries, this could really improve clarity.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, and for all the amazing work you do! 😊
Best regards, Laura

Hi @Laura Frühauf ,
thanks for your feedback, that's an interesting observation, you are right, the view does change for all projects! I am sorry to say, that at the moment you have to switch manually to the chosen view in each board. However, I think this is a great idea! I'll forward those internally (as all other ideas that come up in this thread) to my colleagues at Meister.
You can post both ideas here in the feature idea section of the community (or here for German ideas), so that others can vote for it. This would help us see, how many users would be interested in that kind of optimization of the feature.

Hello Thanks a lot for this new feather !
Question: are there any plans to add :- a column sorting system?
- customisable fields visible in the table? If so, is it possible to plan a column system with results from the start? If so, I'll be leaving Notion right away !!!!
Have a nice day and thank you!

Hi @Antoine ROFFÉ ,
thanks for your suggestions and ideas around this feature. At the moment, we are still collecting feedback and haven't made any plans yet how the List view feature will evolve in the future.
