Configuration or shortcut for wrangling large blocks of text

I've been spending an inordinate amount of time the past few days manually resizing pasted text blocks because square blocks like this take up too much vertical space. This is an edge case because my mind maps normally don't have this much text. But if you can have a think about two ideas it might be useful for other people:

Idea 1. A shortcut for quickly shrinking a node to X lines high e.g. 2 lines high

Idea 2. A map-level preference for wider text blocks by default or maximum number of lines

    Interestingly, I've found that Markdown formatted text keeps all the text together on one line, so if you want to force something to be on a single line then just wrap it in single or double asterisks and you won't have to worry about then resizing to remove wrapping!
