Yes, so super important to not forget that a precondition of successful brainstorming is freedom, no criticism or preselection is allowed while developing ideas. But at some moment we have to ground, evaluate the ideas, select the fittest, and somehow agree on starting action without too much procrastination.

Vice versa I guess it's also important to systematically go back into the ideation phase from realization when reviews show the results might be insufficient. Or strong, game-changing ideas come up that didn't show in the first brainstorming session. SWOT might help both ways.
