Is registration necessary to view a map via share link?

Today, users with whom I wanted to share a mindmap via link where asked to register and couldn't access the mindmap without doing so. Is this normal?

I just tried sharing a mind map via the share-link and it worked well. Registration was encouraged through a small pop-up window, but I wasn't necessary.

Did you use the share-link or did use the URL to share the map?

(Feel free to switch to German if you prefer it ;)

Hi @LMPC,

I heard from the Meister Team that a similar issue did occur at the beginning of November. This was fixed at the end of last week. So, I would recommend trying to share your map again to see if it works for you now :)

The people I want to share my mindmaps with are led to the page uploaded by LMPC.

Hi @Cornelia Patscheider , could you give us an update on this? I have now made my mind map 'Public' and still having the same issue.

Hi @LMPC , I have tried sharing my maps again, and unfortunately I cannot replicate this. At the moment, I am not aware of any changes.

Have you tried the following steps below to see if the behaviour changes?

- Clear the cache and cookies in your browser.
- Try another browser
- Open your account in incognito/private mode.

Thanks for your help, but I don't think the issue is due to anything related to our browsers, since it is occurring not on our devices, but on those of the users with whom we are sharing our links. I have asked users to try out different browsers, but this doesn't solve the issue. For me, as a teacher, this is a huge problem, since it forces me to ask my students to register. If, for any reason whatsoever, they are reluctant to do so, I can no longer use MindMeister in my classes.
