MindMeister: What’s New & What’s Next (March 2024)

Here is an update about recent features, improvements, and upcoming changes.

🌈 What’s New in MindMeister?

• Custom Colors: All users with a Pro- or Business Plan can now create color palettes that reflect their brand and save them directly on the map level. Make your maps not only functional but also a true representation of your brand's identity. → Read more  
  
• New Copy Image Feature: Now, moving and copying images within a mind maps is much easier. 
  • 1. Select the image. 
  • 2. Select Copy Image url
  • 3. Select another idea or topic in your mind map. 
  • 4. Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl +V or CMD + V to paste the image. 
  • This feature copy image will work for any png, jpg, svg, bmp or gif images that you upload or drag and drop onto topics. (Please note that this is a clipboard feature and might not be supported by all browsers.)

• New shortcut for notes in a mind map: 
  • If you open a mind map, you can use the shortcut ALT + SHIFT + N to quickly open a note. To close the note, you can select the key Esc to close the note. 
  • To add a link to the note, select the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + k. This will transform any selected text within the note into a clickable link. 
    
• Quality of life change: It is now easier and faster to move a topic around to a different idea branch of the mind map. We improved the speed of topics being moved around. 

🔜 What’s Next in MindMeister?

• Tasks easily available: We will improve the navigation of the right menu so that your tasks linked from the mind map to MeisterTask will be available not just to view in MindMeister, but faster accessible with viewer clicks necessary.   
  
• Personal Plan Attachment Limit Changes: Only the Personal Plan will change — here's what you need to know:
  • On April 1, 2024, we're updating attachment limits and the version history limit on the Personal Plan. Users on the personal plan will have up to two attachments per mind map (200 MB limit per attachment) and the version history will be available up to 7 days.
  • Users on the personal plan will be able to edit, duplicate and share existing maps with more than two attachments, but it won't be possible to add new attachments. Link attachments won’t count towards your limit. If you need more than two attachments per map, our Pro Plan offers unlimited attachments and more to support your advanced mapping needs. 🚀 What's new?

You'll now find the option to create tasks in the left vertical sidebar. It's easier than ever to add tasks directly from your mind map—just click on the task icon in the sidebar.

Want to view all your tasks? Any tasks you've linked will also appear here for easy access.
