Cannot duplicate a mind map!!

Hi guys,

Hope someone can help me solve this mystery.

I used to be able to duplicate a mind map from an "view-only" mind map.

However, I cannot see the link to the one that should have been duplicated.

Is there something wrong with MInd Meister at the moment, or am I doing something wrong?

Please help!!

    Hi @Ako Kennedy ,

    please try to login to your account before you try to duplicate a mind map that was shared with you.

    Could you also explain more details? You mentioned "I cannot see the link to the one that should have been duplicated" —> where would you expect to see the "link"? Where did you click on Duplicate?

    Please also note that MindMeister recently made some changes, whenever mind maps are shared via links instead of personal invitations. Click here to learn more.

    Hi! I have the same problem! When I pressed the duplicate button, nothing changed.

    Please check this video. Nothing changed after the duplicate button was pressed.

    thanks for sending the video! I could also reproduce this behavior. It seems like you cannot duplicate mind maps where you have only "view-only" rights. I am not if this is a bug or intended behavior. I am very sorry to hear that you are experiencing this issue. I would recommend contacting Meister's Support Team and explain the issue in detail. They will look into the issue and explain more.

    When you contact support, it'd be great to include as much information as possible:

    • include which account and mind maps are affected
    • Please enable access to your account. You can find a guide how to do this here: How to- Enable Access 
    • Please send a screenshot or video with the developer console open. To open the developer console in Google Chrome, open the Chrome Menu in the upper-right-hand corner of the browser window and select More Tools > Developer Tools. You can also use Option + ⌘ + J (on macOS), or Shift + CTRL + J (on Windows/Linux).

    I would like to update you, that I have received new information from the MindMeister developers, that a change has been made.

    Users who have "view-only" access to a mind maps are no longer able to export or duplicate a mind map.

    I would like to apologize, I am sorry, that this has not been clearly communicated in the past and has caused troubles for you.
