Is it possible to export a map outline so it can be opened in excel?

Once I have created the map, I want to be able to manipulate the outline and sublines in excel to add other details or groupings etc.

If it's possible, how do I do it as I cant see excel under export to common file formats

I tried to export a map outline. As I can say it's not possible. But if it does I think @Andres D'Andrea or @Jörg Koper can give you a hand here.

As @Rooster McNugget correctly mentioned, it's not (yet) possible to export Mind Maps into an Excel file. You can of course copy everything manually and paste it into Excel.

Or you can do it...let's say with a quick trick 😉

You can export the file into a text file:

Copy the exported text:

Make use of ChatCPT using a command like shown below and followed by the pasted output of your file:

Then you'll get this beauty:

simply copying like this:

pasting into Excel:

...and make further, desired adjustments.

This process took about 3 Minutes. I recommand to save a shortcut for the command and then make use of it whenever you need this workflow in ChatGPT again.

@Jörg Koper Brilliant, thank you. My mindmap is quite big so will need some playing around with the text first but I didnt thin kof using GPT for this!

It's been a year…any better workarounds for getting an outline into xls? Can I go through other mindmap formats to make this happen?

Hi @Barry Raphael and welcome to the community from my side 👋🙂

There have unfortunately not been any changes in the workaround so far. If you have any other software formats in mind, you may export it from MindMeister into the desired format and try to edit the outline mode or a similar list mode. This might work.

So, my suggested workaround should still bring a fast result. Not ideal, but it works 🙃
