Hi all — following up on our release of subtasks, the team is implementing some more improvements this quarter (Q4 2023):

  • Web: Convert existing tasks into subtasks
  • Web: Convert checklists into subtasks
  • Web: Confirmation dialog when detaching a subtask
  • Mobile: Inline setting of task assignees and due dates

    As I noticed with automatization (repeating task) or duplicating tasks a lot of the feature is lost again. Is there already an idea of when or if it going to be changed? Otherwise, I would stick to multi-project organization with repeating tasks.

    Hi everyone,

    Good news: The updates are currently not just being planned. The updates are now in production.

    🟢 These optimizations are currently in production:

    • Existing tasks will be able to be made into subtasks
    • The ability to mark all subtasks as "Completed" together with the parent task.
    • Inline setting of task assignees and due dates on the mobile apps


    📅 Expected schedule: These optimizations are expected to be available at the end of this year or the beginning of next year.

    @Marlene Heinen, at the moment the updates are not tackling automations or repeating tasks. So for now, I am sorry, but there is no update on this. But I can tell you that the team is currently planning what the updates after this update will be next year. So there is hope that 2024 will bring further updates on this.

    Thank you for your feedback. I'm looking forward on it.

    Maybe re-attaching every subtask every repetition is an option. Still this feature is strongly missed here. This weakens the great potential either of the automation or the subtasks feature.
