Why am I unable to enter text in a note?

When I click on the space to enter a note no cursor shows there nor am I able to type in any text. I am able to use Comment and type there, but I really need to use the note entries.

Thank you for all your efforts. I tried one more troubleshooting possibility. I have a newer MacBook Pro and notes worked just fine! So the problem is with my older pro. However, I do have several other issues. When I was teaching MM to a class I opened several new accounts to demonstrate the ease with which it could be done. Can we close those accounts? When I download my app to my iPhone or iPad it goes to those accounts. One is title FIRST, I am not certain about the other. The one I want to save is titled "be!" (lower case) and uses my beverist@mchsi.com address. I do not want to lose the many maps I have on my "be!" (obviously the quotation marks are not in the title.). I was able to use all the other choices, but I do have a question about the image upload: is it possible to resize the image or make it into an icon? I am pleased I can stay with Mind Meister, as I am already inviting new collaborators, one of whom has already tried adding a node (I asked her to see if she could make a note to explain the node's meaning as well as to learn how to add a note.). The current iteration of the note function in MeisterTask is still read-only — our engineers are working on editing and comment functions for a future release. You'll be able to stay updated on this and other changes by following the announcements and updates category. Hope this helps!

Hi @Burton Everist ,

Could you check in your mind map what role you have? Please find a guide here how to do that. If you only have access privilege like "Can view" then you might not be permitted to make any changes to the map.

MeisterTask is a complete separate tool, and it does not supersede MindMeister, don't worry :)

Thank you. I am the owner.This and many other maps are not shared with any one else. I am able to make comments and other entries, move branches, save, upload picture, upload file, assign tasks. But I cannot enter a note.

Same issue, also as a single user of MindMeister (no MeisterTask). I am able to add a note, but am not able to type text. Is there a fix yet?

I still have this problem and it is tempting me to go back to Mind Manager. Please resolve this issue! Today I invited two newbies to join but it is not encouraging if they cannot enter notes either.

1. Could you please tell me whether this happens on every map or just on a specific one?
2. Are you trying via the app or browser?
3. Please give support access. This way, we can test it from your account.

1. It happens on many maps. I am also unable to add to text in a note on my earlier maps.
2. I am trying on the browser. My app takes me to a demonstration map account I used in teaching MM to a class, so I am unable to type on text there, too. I would like the app to take me to this account.
3. I have granted access.

Could you give me the name of a few of the maps this occurs on? Then our devs can go straight to the problem maps.

Re: the app account. Could you try logging out of the app and logging in with the correct credentials (i.e. same account as with your browser app)?

I don't know what a DEV console is. Every new map, and all my old maps do not permit me to enter text in the frame that opens when I click on the Notes icon either way.

To open the developer console in Google Chrome, open the Chrome Menu in the upper-right-hand corner of the browser window and select More Tools > Developer Tools. You can also use Option + ⌘ + J (on macOS), or Shift + CTRL + J (on Windows/Linux).

Chrome is not taking my current password. I use Safari and I just reopened my Mindmeister with not problem. However, when I try to change my password (in Safari) the password change does not recognize my current password. Should I be using Chrome (is MM now a Google product?)

Tried change password. Wants to change the FIRST account which was an account I opened to demonstrate to a class on MM that I taught. I entered my be! which is what I want to open.

Hi,

MindMeister is not a Google product. I was just suggesting how you might open dev console in Chrome.

If you're using safari, go into Safari's preferences (Safari Menu > Preferences) and select the Advanced Tab. Once that menu is enabled, you will find the developer console by clicking on Develop > Show Javascript Console. You can also use the shortcut Option + ⌘ + C .

Please take a screenshot of the map + open dev console when you are struggling to write a note in a mind map. This will help our devs identify the issue.

Our devs tried to see the issue from within your account but couldn't reproduce it.

That's what's strange. We'd like to solve the issue but have no problem when adding notes to your mind maps.

Now have Javascript opened, but what do I do with it?

Go to a map and try to add a note while you have Javascript open.

If you are unable to add the note, take a screenshot and share it here. Then we can investigate the script to find the error.

If you're able to screenrecord as you go into the map, this would also be helpful.

Since I just paid for my subscription would I have access if I make my maps public? I have many, many, but I would copy them to another map system one by one. I don't want to lose all that work.
